If you’re ready to enjoy fishing in Savannah, book a trip with Miss Judy Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Judy, so you’ll benefit from years of local experience.
Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Gag Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Redfish, Gray Triggerfish, Spanish Mackerel, Black Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or jigging. You can keep some of the fish you catch within the legal limit. Catch cleaning is available at an additional price, so you can take your fish home to eat. Now that’s dinner!

You’ll be casting lines from Miss Judy Too, a 31’ Custom offshore sport fishing vessel that can carry up to 8 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate, who’s there to help you fish and keep everyone safe on board.  There will be a customary 20% tip added to your balance.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

Miss Judy Charters is a child-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), snacks, and drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Miss Judy Charters is a family-owned business, “chasing as well as catching fish since 1948!” Captain Judy Helmey’s father, Capt. Sherman Helmey was one of the first charter boat companies to be recognized in Savannah, Georgia. Capt. Judy took over the business in the seventies. She is still running it today, loves every minute of it, and retirement is the furthest thing from her mind. In our world, the word “Judy” is truly a name that is associated with “fishing as well as catching!”
