Incredible night with Catterman Adventures!  I was looking for a charter for my son and I, and came across Catterman. Glad I did!  We had a great night on the beach. We caught on average, one shark an hour all in the 3-4ft range. What a fight!  In the down time we ate and swapped fishing stories. Kevin and his crew are knowledgeable and respectful of these amazing animals. My son loved it!  We will definitely be back!

This was our second trip with Catterman and it was as memorable as our first outing. Kevin and John are great host and knowledgeable fishermen. We landed 3 sharks and had very engaging conversations. Look forward to coming back next year!

If you like a few hours of fishing, you’ll love 12 hours with these guys!  Honestly, I could do this once a week.  I felt like the guys and I had fished together before.  Their experience, gear and energy level more than exceeded my expectations.  Yes, we started catching almost immediately and that lasted throughout the 12 hours, but beyond the exciting fishing, the 12 hours gave us the opportunity to settle in as a team.  We shared stories, wisdom about the species being caught, shared a great meal in a bug-proof tent, shared the ups and downs of getting fish on, then losing some, then bringing some to the beach where we rapidly released them.  On and on it went.  Respect for the animals is a top priority.  These guys want to catch fish as much as you do!  Watching the sun set, the stars, planets and moon traverse the night sky, watching the sun rise as you’re hauling in a shark large enough to pull you into the surf if you don’t give it your all and start burning lactic acid into every muscle in your body; I’d have to say that this is an epic fishing and nature life experience.  I have four kids and eight grandkids.  Please tell them all that this is the perfect life-experience gift to give.  LOL (hint-hint)  I’ve sharked from boat charters and that’s great too, but having experienced this, I think it’s even more thrilling.  You don’t have thise hours of watching your chum slick hoping to see a fin.  With surf fishing, these guys know the channel, know the shoreline, know the species, know how to get you fishing for live bait right from the start and it all comes together perfectly.  I don’t suffer from sea sickness but plenty of folks do.  Surf fishing with these guys on their style eliminates all worries of vertigo (sea sickness) because you’re always on land.  Anyone could enjoy this experience.  I checked “no” in the section where it asks if the experience is suitable for children only because this is totally dependant on the child’s age, interest and attention level, personality, maturity, etc.  I would be thrilled to share such an experience with my four kids and eight grandkids, but they’ve all been exposed to fishing and outdoor adventures with me.  A newbie should discuss with guide Kevin first because 12 hours could be challenging for all but the right type of child.  As I said at the start of this review, I’d go once a week with Kevin if I could.  Enjoy!

Weather for evening booked was not ideal. Kevin worked with us to postpone until following evening at a later time. Traffic and weather caused some further delay and we had to take a break to avoid rain and lightning. We fished well past scheduled time to make up for delays and Kevin worked hard to find the right bait and time of bite. The weather was still not cooperative, but several bites that spit the hook and Kevin’s persistence yielded us a 5 1/2 foot beauty before end of night. Great opportunity! Thanks Kevin!

Had a blast! Definitely worth it if you’re considering a shark fishing experience. Kevin is an all around great guy, great personality and lots of great positive energy!!! Could not have asked for a better guide! Him and his helper John make sure you have the best experience, they do all the work and you have all the fun! They make the night all about you. Wonderful people.
