Die Skipper Diogo Paiva und Eduardo Lopes gründeten Azores Fishing im Jahr 2015, nachdem sie einige Jahre zuvor gemeinsam in der Region geangelt hatten. Sowohl Eduardo als auch Diogo sind ausgebildete Rettungsschwimmer und haben eine Qualifikation als Berufsfischer und Eduardo hat einen Abschluss in Sportwissenschaften.
