My best fishing trip ever. This is my first time trying live bait drifting fishing, and it is exciting to feel the fishing line passing by your fingers when you know you get a bite.

It is a fishing session not a catching session, so you can’t guarantee to always catch fish, but we were just so lucky, me and my girlfriend caught like 20 to 30 (we lost count) king mackerels and bonitos in a 4-hour session, even not including the ones we lost. We have doubled up multiple times, and we kept the 3 largest ones.

The captain is very experienced. When we had no bites at first spot for few minutes, he took us to another spot, and we immediately started to catch fish. His wife is very helpful, that she helps to change bait and take photos and film videos when you are fighting the fish.

Both the captain and his wife are very nice people and communicative. Chatting with them made so much fun in the entire trip. Overall, I highly recommend this charter fishing to everyone.

I can not say enough about how great of an experience I had with Ozzy and Yadi from Pelagic Pirate Charters. They took such great care of us, and were just great people to be out on a boat with for 6 hours. Ozzy knows what he is doing, and has so much valuable experience of the water around Miami. I don’t want to set the bar too high for others expectations, because at the end of the day it is fishing, but he had the right game plan for us that morning to ensure we filled the cooler with a limit. I will be going back and booking with Pelagic Pirate Charters, and I suggest you do too.

Our group was my wife, my 12 year old son and me.  My son loves fishing the pond at home, but we’ve never been able to do anything such as this.  We chose the half day. 

Captain Ozzy was very easy to communicate with and was as flexible as he could be the week we were there.  He even was able to reschedule to an open day, based on a very bad forecast for our scheduled day.  He also recommended the morning slot, which I’m glad he did, as it allowed us to use live bait.

When you arrive, captain Ozzy and his wife, Yoti are waiting for you.  We went out to 2 or 3 locations several miles from shore.  We were able to catch a nurse shark, lots of yellowtail snapper and a grouper.  The yellowtail were all keepers, which Captain Ozzy prepared for us.  To top everything off, on the way back into the harbor, we came across a diver that had gotten separated from his boat.  He was waving his rescue pylons like crazy.  Upon coming up to him, he was in need of rescue.  Captain Ozzy and Yoti quickly got him in the boat and were able to get him reconnected with his boat.  The diver was extremely thankful and we could tell visibly shaken.  He told us he was beginning to think he would die out there and repeatedly kept thanking us.  When he finally calmed down, he offered to take Ozzy diving sometime.  Without missing a beat Ozzy said no thanks and offered to take him fishing instead.  It was a pretty amazing end to the day.

If you have kids, both Ozzy and Yoti are great with them.  I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun day on the water.  4 hours was about right for my son.  My wife and I had a very good time too.

This is trip was incredible. The vibes were out of the charts. Captain Osvaldo and his wife Yari were incredible. We were able to catch plenty of fish and Captain Osvaldo knowledge about fishing was incredible. He knew exactly were to go in order to catch good fish. Plus, they are both fluent in Spanish and they were able to talk to my family who don’t speak English. Their hospitality was incredible. They have plenty of water and ice for us and play good music the entire day. We have the best time ever. I will recommend this to anyone.

My boys and I had a beautiful 1/2 day on the reef. Cpt Ozzy was great with communication and was flexible to schedule a day that allowed us the best possible experience. His first mate provided us with a guided tour of the area on our way out and read our needs before we even knew we needed them. We caught a variety of fish that matched our interests. So grateful for the experience and can’t wait to taste our plentiful catch.
