My son and I booked an 8-hour fishing trip with Lock it up Charters. The day before the weather looked liked it could be an issue. Capt. Jay called the day before our trip and game planned for the next day. We pushed back the time to allow for the weather to clear. Jay was very knowledgable about the best places to and tried his best to accomodate my son’s interest in catching a certain fish. Jay put us on the fish all day long and my son caught the fish he has been trying to catch for years. Great time and looking forward to our next trip with Lock it up Charters. The 5 star reviews are real.

Captain Jason was so knowledgeable, so humorous, so the ocean guru story teller, and humble in all of his courteous ways to make his clients feel like they have the charter venture they are paying for and then some…. seriously.  My son n l caught about a half dozen species of fish. Saw a sea turtle…. and battled 2… 5ft+ nurse sharks and like 9 3-4ft Atlantic reef sharks….Then while fileting fish fed the scraps to dinosaur size tarpon.. overoverall…. insanely awesome experience! Thanks Captain J!!!!

Booked a 2 hour trip with Captain Jason. It’s not much time but Jason was able to get to productive fishing area in 15 minutes or so. We caught fish right away: Mangrove Snapper, Yellow Jack, and Barracuda. Jason makes the trip enjoyable, productive and entertaining (Capt Jason talks to the fish near the boat). Capt Jason is a great guide and I will try to book him again when I am back in the Keys. I recommend you check his availability if you are interested in fishing the Key Largo area.

Great Day! Caught so many fish , started to catch and release , couldn’t eat that many . Jason knows the waters well and found the fish fast. He is amazing in that he can carry a conversation and do several things at once. Great role model when it comes to being environmentally friendly and safety of his charter and other boaters sharing the water ways. He seemed to be able to read the fish and make changes that allowed us to catch more. The fish seemed to know him also .When we returned and he cleaned our catch , he even had Tarpon eating out of his hand. Next time I am in the keys and go fishing , he will get my business ! One minor thing. I caught the biggest fish of my entire life . A huge grouper ! Amazing !

my colleague recommended to me that I should do a fishing trip during my time visiting the Florida Keys. Since we have never done any fishing before, we decided to go with the 2 hour trip with Captain Jason. Booking procedure with the app and payments were easily done. We met our Captain as agreed and he took us on his boat to the John Pennekamp Coral Reef for fishing. As soon as we got there the action started and we were busy bending some rods. Due to our inexperience and lack of speed, unfortunately most of the fish we caught were either able to escape or eaten by a higher species of the food chain. We saw turtles and also made the acquaintance with at least two sharks. Although we caught a few smaller snappers we were not able to catch anything large. Nevertheless we had a lot of fun and the two hours went very quickly. Jason was very pleasant and full of knowledge so I learned quite a bit about fishing. His knowledge was impressive. I think next time we will be better prepared what is expecting us and what to do.
