My wife and I had a memorable trip with Black Moon. We initally booked a half day, afternoon trip, but we’re contacted by Luis that the forecast for the afternoon was going to be windy.  He suggested a morning trip, and we are thankful for that advice.  The ocean was choppy and trolling was difficult, so we decided to bottom fish and caught a couple of Snapper and a Grouper, as well as some smaller jack fish etc. After bottom fishing and catching some larger bait we hooked into a GIANT Barracuda!!  Definitely a fish that I will remember forever.  I can’t say enough about Captain Julio and Edwin.  They were top notch, and worked like crazy to put fish in the boat and make our trip so memorable!!  Muchos Gracias!!!  If you are looking for a great trip with wonderful guides, I would choose them every time!!!

We had a really fun time bottom fishing with our captain and deck hand.
First 20 minutes spent close to shore while deck hand cast net for bait fish. Fun to watch.
Then the ride out into the gulf for about 30 minutes was a little choppy and the temps were cool and then with the boat being on the smaller side and the sides pretty low we were getting constantly wet from splashes.wet through our clothes sitting up front. That would gave been really nice had it been warm and had the sun been out. Sun had been forecasted all morning but unfortunately it wasn’t the case.
Tried trolling for over an hour but no luck. They told us it wasn’t a good time of year for that. Need to come in May.
Decided to come back early because water was getting more choppy and we were very happy with our catch. We filleted as many fish as we wanted and bagged it up.very friendly nice guys.

Had a great day with Captain Julio and Polo! I visit Puerto Morleos frequently and this is the best charter I’ve had so far (and I’ve done many, both in Mexico and in the US). The crew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and they were constantly working to maximize our chances of success - regularly checking and changing baits and rigs, keeping the boat clean, offering beverages and drinks, etc. Did a 6 hour trip and we were fortunate enough to land 4 mahi mahi, which was our target species. They cleaned it very nicely. Would very highly recommend black moon and will certainly be using them again when I’m in Puerto Morelos!

What a time.  Four hours of hauling fish in the boat. Got some trolling in, my personal favorite way to fish, then did some bottom fishing. Lines getting bit as soon as the bait hit the bottom put lots of fish in the boat. Captain Julio and Edwin were fantastic, super friendly guys who know how to catch fish. So for anyone who wants to go Catching instead of fishing I highly recommend Black Moon.

They worked hard,  and they had fun with us.  I’ve been on many charters, but this was in the top 3!
We caught a bunch of fish, and Edwin cleaned the ones we wanted and recommended a great place for us to take one of our Yellowtail snappers to fry up for an amazing lunch.
