We were visiting NSB for only a few days and signed up with the NSB Shark Hunters last minute - so glad we did. One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had and we pulled in FOUR SHARKS. Really was an unforgettable experience, and it was very easy to book even though we signed up just the night before we went out fishing. I should note I am not an experienced fisher (haven’t fished for probably 10 years and only gone maybe 12 times in my whole life) but the guys made learning very easy.

Dean and Reed were great teachers and made the whole experience crazy fun, and we will absolutely be coming back next time we are in NSB.

The guys at nsb shark hunters are awesome! I could tell Dustin was a great captain when he called me at 1030pm after I inquired about a trip. He provided more information that I could’ve thought to ask, and made the process SUPER easy. When the day came, we fished with Dean and his first mate Reed. They were super fun guys. Very knowledgeable and answered every one of our multiple questions, while still managing to joke around and have fun. The perfect mix of getting serious with the fishing, and just hanging out with great people on the beach. We managed to find a nice sand tiger shark and the coaching during the fight was great. If you want to learn about shark fishing, hangout with some awesome people and catch some life changing fish, nsb shark hunters is your ticket!

When we first arrived we were greeted by Brian who was extremely friendly and had already set up. He had chairs set up in case we wanted to just sit and wait, we are more of a hands on couple so we did not use them, and he explained the process and had waters for us as well. Steve came shortly after and was also extremely friendly. The 2 of them got us so excited.  They let us bait the lines and try our hand at casting. It was much more difficult than it looked but they were very encouraging and the entire experience was so much better because of their amazing personalities and knowledge. We learned so much about where and why the sharks are found and what conditions are best to fish. My boyfriend and I were given every possible opportunity to be involved and we couldn’t have had a better experience because of it. We had a few runs but nothing set and Brian and Steve never gave up and continued to give us their everything. Their determination to make this a great experience kept us excited.  Towards the 3rd hour we finally hooked our shark! It took almost an hour to reel in, but Brian and Steve spotted us as we took turns. What a workout! They explained the process and continued to encourage us and cheer us on while continuing to communicate what was happening. We were all trying to guess what we had on the hook and when we finally got it to shore, Brian and Steve worked incredibly quick. We unhooked, measured, tagged,  and took quick photos and he was back in the water. 7.8ft LEMON SHARK!! What a beautiful creature. One of the greatest experiences of our lives. Brian even made us a video while we worked on reeling him in. So thankful for that memory.  To top the night off as we packed up and walked up the beach a sea turtle came on land and made a nest right in front of us!!! Brian and Steve were quick and knowledgeable about the laws and we kept our distance but what a treat to end a fantastic fishing experience. We could not had better guides. Brian and Steve are worth their weight in gold and were a great team. We are so thankful for this experience of a lifetime and it was made memorable because of them!

Dustin and Reed were awesome to fish with in Ormond Beach last night.  These guys did everything g possible to get us a shark on the line.  They truly wanted us as Veterans to have a great experience.  They had great equipment and fish over 200 days a year.  They take clients out from Jacksonville to New Smyrna Beach and fish from the beach.
