I surprised my husband with a birthday gift of fishing for a day. Captain James did not disappoint.  He knew the right spots to take us from beginning to end. Despite the tide. wind issues and motion sickness we had a great time. Captain James taught me how to fish, I did pretty good for the first time, so dod my husband. Enjoyed the experience and look forward to the next one.

First off captain was very accommodating especially because this was a last minute booking. We had three other trips that cancelled us due to the weather… weather wasn’t a problem at all here! No lie we probably caught about 100 trout (not exaggerating). At one point we were catching trout with just a hook (no bait) that’s how on fire captain got us. To top it off, the last spot we hit captain said let’s try and get something big. Man did he deliver. I caught a jack crevalle that I’m not sure how much it weighed but it was massive. Fought it for what felt like half an hour. Thing took my line all the way out, captain knew just what to do and we chased it around until we got him in the boat! Wasn’t sure what to expect because we were kinda bummed to get cancelled on our off shore trip, but I don’t think we could have had a better experience than this. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Captain James was one of the most skilled guides of been with in awhile. He called me ahead of our trip to talk over options and plans. He was ready to go and had us on fish right off the bat. This was probably one of the better days fishing I’ve ever had. We caught over 200 sea trout, plus a few croaker and catfish. We Capt. James had them dialed in. When we got back. He dropped us off at a great local restaurant while he went to clean the catch. He even recommended another restaurant that was willing to cook up some of our catch. Next time I’m in New Orleans I will for sure be booking again!

Thanks Capt. James at Right Side Charters for giving us every opportunity to catch them fishies in 100+ heat!  Thank God for the pretty consistent breeze and the few specks and white trout that allowed themselves to be caught!!!  And I even learned how to catch a trout on a lure although I am still partial to live bait!!  We didn’t catch alot but enough to last a few meals until the weather cools off and we can head back out and try it again!  Capt. James told me he would find me some speckled trout AND HE DID!  Had a great trip!
