My wife booked this trip as a birthday present to me, and I loved it. My adult son joined me, and it was both of our first saltwater fishing experience.
Captain Eric was great, friendly, funny, experienced and always quick to give us tips and a helping hand.
We caught catfish, Atlantic sharks, Stingrays,
a Croaker and a baby drum. One of the Stingrays was too big (>60lbs) to safely bring it on board (d/t the poisonous huge stinger), and we caught and released it.
I would definitely recommend booking this trip and we are looking forward to our next adventure with Capt. Eric 👍

Went out with Captain Eric for Jetty trip.  This guy is very experienced and can catch fish.  When few others were catching my son and I were busy pulling up a variety of fish.  Perfect half day trip followed by a great fish dinner that night with my son.  Boat is spacious and well equipped.  Eric took care of everything bait, fish removal, and cleaning the fish - highly recommended for both experienced and inexperienced fishermen!

My son and I had a great day fishing with Captain Eric. We started off the day catching some bait fish and competing with dolphins while trying to reel in our catch.  We then heading to an initial location where three other boats were also located, but we were the only boat catching fish.  We caught several sharks and catfish at that location.  After about 1.5 hours we moved to another location with no other boats nearby. We caught several sharks and catfish, a stingray, and a rather large redfish.  My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our day on the water and we will definitely fish with Captain Eric next time we’re in town.

My two older boys (12/11 years old) and I had a great time catching sharks and a red drum with Captain Eric. Also caught a couple of catfish to take home. Word of advise though, absolutely buy your license and red drum tag from a physical license dealer. We caught a massive red drum and I had an active red drum tag but because I bought my license from the Texas Game and Fish website, I did not have a physical copy of the tag which is necessary to keep the fish. Captain Eric did everything he could to try to help, called the game warden to assist, etc. ultimately we had to put it back in the water. Can’t fault the company on this. Just buy a license and red drum tag from Walmart. When all was said and done, it was a great time and my sons got to check catching sharks off their bucket list.

Highly impressed with Line Check Charters. Scheduled to go out on Sunday for 6 hrs and got a call from Captain Mike letting us know that our initial plan of going out to the rigs was going to be in jeopardy because of weather forecast. He wanted to make sure that we were ok with a possible alternative plans. Expectations were set to exactly what was delivered. The weather was very windy chance with chance of bad weather. Eric was very upfront and knowledgeable of exactly what it was going to be like.
We all agreed that staying nearshore would be the best. They wanted to leave the dock at 6:30. They left at 6:29. We were fishing at 7:00.
What was so impressive was the network of Captains. Eric was working with us as we fished and in the down times calling other Captains checking other locations so he would not waist time traveling. Eric has decades of experience on the Gulf and told us based on his experience this is what we should do. We listened. As you can see from the pictures we hit a grand slam. The Monster Red Fish Drum (48.5 inches) is a once in a life time catch. The other Red Fish Bull Drum (over 30 inches) in the video would have made any fisherman feel like they had a great day. The Black drum was also over 30 inches and was released. We also caught several catfish. The key was listening to our expert guide. If you have an opportunity to fish with Line Check Charters listen to your Captain. You could have a trip of a life time. Based on the advice of Eric, we are now planing a 12 our trip with the same group of friends and Line Check Charters next year.
