Capt. Ramon and First Mate Maria were great and really had us dialed in. We saw so many whales and dolphins in the morning. Fish wise we got an Amberjack, a Bonito, a Dorado (had a second but spit the hook) and a striped marlin to end the day. Kissed ole striped and back he went for another fight on another day. Kept the rest. Small group so we had plenty of fish for our dinner across the street at the Marina Inn. So delicious. Group already wants to look at dates to do it again.  Thank you so much Ramon and Maria. I will definitely book you again for the next trip. They are a very good crew. Mucho gracias!

An overcast, light rain day in February. My expectations were pretty moderate when we headed out. End of the day: three striped marlin, two fat dorado, a couple yellowfin and some skipjacks, a wahoo, and a big trigger for ceviche.  Maria is amazing to watch work, she is a master of her craft. An amazing day all around.  Winter bonus is all the gray whales playing everywhere you looked.  Will be coming back to fish with these guys again.

The crew members were native to San José Del Cabo and have been fishing these waters for over 30 years. Captain Ramon and his brother, Caterino, were very knowledgeable and resourceful. We were a group of 3.  The boat could easily hold 6 fishermen comfortably. Boat was in great shape.  Box lunch was good. Lots of bottled drinking water and sodas and extra cooler space provided. We brought our own beers onboard. We caught and released a Sailfish of about 80+ lbs. Also caught a 60+ pound Dorado (Mahi-mahi), which the crew filleted for us. We kept a few fillets and brought them to George’s Restaurant, which is located at the Marina Inn (blocks from pickup and drop off site).  Can’t think of anything negative about the experience. I would not only fish with these guys again, I highly recommend them without hesitation.

Trolled for Marlin and hooked up on a 400-500# Black Marlin. My family and I all traded off fighting the fish for 3 hours, we got it to the boat 3 times and it broke the line at the side of the boat. Great day on the water, Mr Marlin wins this time. Also caught some other fish on the way out and had enough dorado to take home for a fresh catch dinner. Maria was very attentive and nice. She always made sure every one was comfortable and having a good time while fighting the Marlin. Thanks for the good times Maria and Ramon, we will see you next time!

Salty Dog Charters ticks all the boxes.  The 4 of us fish regularly off of BC’s west Coast.  The crew was excellent, and worked hard to get lots of “blood in the boat” using a variety of fresh fish and tackle.  The boat is extremely well maintained and hosts 4 adults very comfortably.  We had an enjoyable and successful day on the water and had a lovely dinner of Bonita Sashimi and grilled Mahi Mahi for our dinner.  We will definitely book Salty Dog every time we come to San Jose del Cabos.
