We recently had the pleasure of going fishing on Lake Minnetonka with Captain Brian, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment we stepped aboard his well-maintained boat, it was evident that Captain Brian was not only knowledgeable about fishing but also genuinely passionate about sharing his expertise with my wife and I.

Captain Brian’s friendly and welcoming demeanor immediately put us at ease, making us feel like old friends rather than clients. Whether we were avid anglers or beginners, Captain Brian ensured that we had a memorable and fun experience.

Overall, fishing on Lake Minnetonka with Captain Brian was an exceptional experience. His expertise, passion, and dedication to providing a memorable fishing adventure were evident throughout the trip. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a beginner looking to learn, I highly recommend booking a fishing trip with Captain Brian. You won’t be disappointed! D

Brian was more than willing to answer all my questions before I even booked this trip.  And after I booked this trip, he kept me informed on what lake we would be fishing, the location of the dock and meeting time.  No issues with communication. 

When I got to the dock (about 20 minutes early) Brian already had the boat in the water and was ready to go.  A quick safety briefing and donning of a life vest and we were on the water.  After just a few minutes we arrived at our first spot and Brian gave a quick tutorial on how to fish a glide bait.  I will add here that when we did change baits, Brian made sure I was fishing each one properly.  About thirty minutes in, I had a fish in the boat (a Northern Pike, but at least I wasn’t going to get skunked).  We tried a few different spots and even though the lunar fishing tables were on our side, the muskies were not.  After about 4 hours of fishing, it was time for a break.  Brian suggested a long lunch break and a change of lakes for the afternoon/evening session which again lined up nicely with the lunar fishing tables.  When I arrived at the second lake, again Brian had the boat in the water and we were on our way in a matter of seconds.  We did have a number of missed strikes and a couple follows using 3-4 different baits at 3-4 different spots, but as in the morning session, I did not get a muskie in the boat.  I was not counting, but I probably made at least 500 casts during the day.

A friend of mine told me that when it comes to fishing with a guide, having a guide that is personable and easy to talk with is very important as there is so much time in the boat without any action (regardless of species being targeted).  In that aspect, Brian was great.  Lots of fish stories and life experiences were exchanged that only added to my enjoyment of the day.

Yeah in the end I did not catch a muskie.  It was not for lack of effort, knowledge or gear.  Sometimes the fish just choose not to cooperate.  I guess that is why it is called fishing and not catching.

Would I recommend Muskies and More?  Absolutely.

Another fantastic morning on Lake Riley fishing with my wife, son, and Captain Brian! We were catching fish all morning… we released a lot of the fish we hauled in (some too small and some of the bass big bass) and kept quite a few. We caught bass, crappie, and sunnies today. Counting fish that we had on the line near the boat but got away and fish we released, we had over 75 fish on our lines this morning. We did this last year with Captain Brian on Lake Minnetonka (had a great time then also) and caught mostly bass, we decided to try this lake and caught more total fish! Amazingly this year and last year’s guide trips were beautiful sunshine days, and Captain Brian was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our son is autistic and Captain Brian has been great with him this year and last year… our son was looking forward to seeing Captain Brian again and going fishing again this year. We all had a great experience, I would strongly recommend Captain Brian as a fishing guide! Thanks again for the great experience, Brian!

Captain Brian communicated well about where to meet.
His boat was tidy and had plenty of space. He prepped the rods for us but was very encouraging to my son and me about trouble shooting and taught us a ton about fishing without just taking over. My son caught 9 fish, several different types, and was over the moon. I wasn’t planning to fish but ended up catching 3 and enjoying myself in the process. Brian was professional, friendly, and a great story teller. We will 100% look for Brian the next time we are in the area to fish.
