Associate Product Marketing Manager

Product - Remote
This position is no longer available.

FishingBooker is looking for an Associate Product Marketer to cement our relationship with anglers worldwide.

FishingBooker is based in New Belgrade and is the world's leading online travel company specializing in fishing. Every year, we help hundreds of thousands of people from over 100 countries book their ideal fishing trips. Built without foreign investors, we are proud of the fact that we run a profitable business and are still growing in our 9th year of operation.

Our Product Marketing team bridges the gap between the technicality of our product and the real people who use it. In the Content Marketing and Communications department and working closely with Product, we’re small, international, and fast-moving. Having mostly focused on engaging with our captains so far, we’re excited about branching out to include the other side of our marketplace in 2022 – our anglers (customers).

Looking for the opportunity to make your own mark on a growing business? Find experimenting with new initiatives motivating and exciting? Join our team and help us kick-start our angler-facing product marketing.

Each new team member is an opportunity for a different perspective and diversification of the team. FishingBooker is committed to providing an environment in which you will have the support and freedom to do your job at the highest level.

About the job

Members of our Product Marketing team each focus on a specific area of our marketplace or communications. One team member leads and produces content for our monthly Captain Newsletter, and one focuses on positioning, messaging, and branding. You will be responsible for angler engagement and retention, driving awareness, brand loyalty, and bookings among past customers.

You will use email marketing and push notifications to help our community use the platform to their advantage. At the same time, you’ll work closely with other user-facing teams to make sure that anyone using our service finds it intuitive, enjoyable, and consistent. You will create and execute a customer retention strategy, meaning you’ll have a direct impact on the company’s revenue. This is a new and exciting role, but you’ll have the support of our team members every step of the way. And it goes without saying – we’ll provide full training about fishing and our rather niche industry during your first few months in the company.

As well as learning the ropes of fishing, you’ll start your FishingBooker journey by exploring the ins and out of our product. Once you’ve been with us for 6 months, you’ll have developed an understanding of our customer profiles and sent your first money making angler-facing campaigns.

This position is the perfect opportunity for a confident digital marketer to move into the fast-growing field of Product Marketing. As you develop, you’ll take on more demanding and responsible projects, creating strategy, leading cross-functional projects, and exploring new ways to drive engagement with our community.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is confident in creating, running, and analyzing email marketing campaigns and wants to use this knowledge to make a real difference to a company’s revenue and brand loyalty. You know how to track and manage marketing budgets to drive positive ROI, and you aren’t phased by creating written and visual content independently. Because our main market is in the USA, native-level American English and a good understanding of American cultural values is essential for this role. A background in a tech company is a big plus.

You might be a good fit for this role if you:

  • Have 1+ years of experience in email marketing
  • Have driven revenue through ecommerce campaigns. You know how to lead a campaign from ideation to execution to analysis, using a metrics-based approach to iterate on their work and get results.
  • Are an effective copywriter (both short and long form) and are confident working with designers and creating your own visual assets if needed. You get a kick out of translating technical, complex, and jargony language into plain, interesting English.
  • Know how to create a communication style according to your research of your customer’s likes/desires, needs, and challenges.
  • Are comfortable in a tech setting and are not afraid to experiment with new products when they’re in testing phase.
  • Are equally comfortable working as an individual contributor and a cross-functional leader.

It’s a plus if you have experience in other aspects of digital marketing, if you’ve worked in community engagement and retention, and/or have experience in hosting online and offline events.

The level of education and type of degree isn’t important, what is crucial is what you can do and how you do it. We’re looking for a person who feels comfortable taking initiative, actively participates in proposing new projects/ideas, and has no problem with direct feedback (giving and receiving). You are also ready to support your team members in other initiatives to achieve results together.

Pay and benefits

  • Full-time contract. FishingBooker hires Serbia-based product marketers on a full-time employment contract (ugovor o radu) with 23 days of paid vacation (maximum of 25 depending on your time spent in the company), plus public and religious holidays observed in Serbia.

  • Pay in the top 10%. We pay in the top 10% of tech companies depending on your seniority rate for jobs in Belgrade, Serbia. We assess seniority relative to the team at FishingBooker during the interview process.

  • Clear career path. When we start working together, every six months (April and October) you will receive a detailed performance review from your team lead with clear instructions on how to grow further. During these periods, you will also be eligible for salary increases based on how you progress in line with the career path.

  • Flexible hours. You are free to set your own working hours, as long as they allow for good collaboration with your teammates. At FishingBooker, we value flexibility, freedom, and focus. We are a remote-friendly company and the majority of our team works from home.

  • Remote-friendly workspace. Once you’re fully onboarded, you will have the flexibility to work from the office or work from the comfort of your home. Due to the nature of the role, it would be beneficial to work from the office a couple of days per week, but we're open to discussing this with you. While you don’t necessarily need to be constantly located in Belgrade, you need to be able to attend the final round of interviews and be onboarded initially in our office. Our office is next to Delta City in Novi Beograd.

  • Private health insurance. FishingBooker provides a private health insurance package.

  • Mentor and a full onboarding plan. You will be assigned a mentor as well as a full onboarding plan where you will learn the ins and outs of the business, how we work in the team, and tools. We also provide books, training, and courses.

  • Company-sponsored fishing trips. It’s important that you get to experience the product FishingBooker sells, so we will treat the whole company to a fishing trip every year. In 2019 we went to Rovinj, Croatia and in 2018 we went to Fujairah, UAE. You will have a diverse team of supportive, caring, and friendly colleagues from all over the world with whom you’ll be able to enjoy additional team-building activities over the course of the year.

  • Apple equipment. Our standard equipment setup typically includes the latest Apple Macbook, monitor, mouse, and keyboard of your choosing.

We look forward to your application! ✌️
